Our school

Quality education in a small school setting

Our community is passionate about ensuring every child experiences success with their learning every day. In the small school setting we have the flexibility to adjust learning programs and structure to suit every student’s individual needs.

All students engage in a curriculum that is aligned with the Australian curriculum and C2C units are delivered with the focus on the principles of effective learning, explicit teaching and quality schooling. Students in years 3 and 5 participate in annual National testing.

All students participate in a rigorous school based assessment and monitoring schedule throughout the year to ensure your child’s academic progress is kept foremost in our minds and informs the teaching and learning process.

Our school is currently implementing the Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support Program as a major component of our Responsible behaviour plan.

Specialist services including learning support and guidance services, music and physical education, Language other than English (Japanese) and religion teachers visit the school on a regular basis.

All students will be exposed to a wide variety of extra-curricular and sporting options throughout the year, which include:

  • Lunch time organised outdoor games and sports training.
  • Lunch time activities: computers, gardening, art.
  • Special event days e.g. Wheels day.
  • Interschool sporting competitions – athletics, cross country.
  • District cross country and athletics.
  • Regional small schools sports day.
  • Swimming program and school carnival.
  • Excursions.
  • Camp.
  • Student council for years 4 to 6 students.

Our modern tuckshop is available for the students to use for cooking and science studies. The P&C also use this space to run their uniform shop and prepare for the many school functions throughout the year.
